The next meeting in the Orpington Circle series of ‘Liberal Democrat Conversations’ will be at 6:30 pm on Wednesday 15th January in the Lounge at The National Liberal Club (step-free access), 1 Whitehall Place. The guest speaker will be Sarah Dyke, Liberal Democrat MP for Glastonbury and Somerton and Member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

Sarah Dyke was first elected to Parliament in July 2023 in a by-election, the last in a series of four splendid Lib Dem by-election wins in the 2019-2024 Parliament. So it is particularly appropriate that she will be our next speaker in the NLC Orpington Circle Liberal Democrat Conversation series. Sarah comes from a farming family and studied Agriculture and Business at University. She was previously a Councillor for Blackmoor Vale and lives in her constituency. She fully understands the issues around the current debate over national food security, how small business farmers manage the environment and other topical issues of the day. Sarah Dyke’s talk will be followed by an Open Forum participant Q&A. A £10 charge includes one beverage of your choice. There will also be a Cash Bar.
