About our speaker Dr. Richard Saldanha is an expert in statistical machine learning and quantitative finance with over 20 years of experience in the City of London. His career spans risk, trading and fund management at various major financial institutions, and he remains active in the field via Oxquant. In addition to postgraduate teaching in the School of Economics and Finance, Queen Mary University of London, Richard is involved in the AI for Control Problems Project at The Alan Turing Institute. He also teaches in the Department of Mathematics at the LSE and is an occasional guest lecturer at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Richard holds a DPhil in graph theory and multivariate statistics from the University of Oxford. He is a Fellow and Chartered Statistician (CStat) of the Royal Statistical Society, a Science Council Chartered Scientist (CSci) and a Fellow and Advanced Practitioner in AI of the Institute of Science and Technology – FIScT(AI).
